Simple Text Editor for CLI DOSes?

Simple Text Editor for CLI DOSes?

SpartaDOS X has ed.

RealDOS has a similar program.

Is there another simple text editor that can be used in other CLI DOSes like DOS XL/OSA+ ? I am currently using MEDIT under OS/A+, and it's a touch awkward.

...if not, I'll write one, I have experience writing buffer gap editors.

Hello Thom

Have you tried T:Edit by Brian Schappel?

If you're using ATARI DOS 2.0s, type L and RETURN, then type TEDIT.COM and RETURN. T:EDIT will load and run automatically. From OSS OS/A+ DOS or from SpartaDOS, simply type TEDIT and hit RETURN. The program will load and run automatically.

You can also find it (and a patched version that will enable you to use D5:, D6:, D7: and D9: too on my special stuff page too.

Sincerely

Mathy
